Meet the Pinkerton Family
During a Christian conference in 1989, a young woman named Kathryn
prayed with one of the leaders of the event. They prayed about
Kathryn’s desire for marriage and the leader’s desire
to see God provide the husband He had in mind. After their prayer,
Kathryn looked up and met the eyes of a young man standing a few
feet in front of her. So began the beautiful story that God continues
to write in the lives of Dan and Kathryn Pinkerton.
Today Dan and Kathryn have nine children, ranging in age from 17 years to 4 years. Their family lives on a ranch in Idaho, which provides wonderful opportunities to raise many animals—from alpacas to horses to chickens. The Pinkertons also enjoy playing musical instruments, spending time with grandparents who live nearby, and taking trips to warm locations during the cold Idaho winters.
As an independent financial advisor with a business of 17 employees, Dan faces the challenge of balancing his work and family responsibilities. From this perspective, he shares how God has been teaching him to be the leader and shepherd of his family. He and Kathryn rejoice in God’s lovingkindness to lead them through struggles, failures, and surrender to His direction.
