ATI Training and Ministry Turns Into University Credit!
Over the years, thousands of ATI students have ministered and received training around the world through ATI. Now, a number of students have successfully been granted college credit for their past experiences through certain colleges.
By writing portfolios and by taking exams, students have earned credits from accredited universities. Some institutions have granted credits toward a degree for some courses offered by The Telos Institute International. Now a degree program has been developed that permits students to translate their training and ministry experiences into university credit toward a bachelor of applied science degree.
This program is based on the growing recognition by academic institutions that life experience and practical training acquired by diligent people is often of equal or greater value than that which is gained in formal academic study.
For example, over three thousand ATI students have traveled to Russia and spent months or years teaching in Russia’s public schools, working with troubled youth, serving orphans, and ministering to pensioner teachers. Through this new program, such experiences can qualify toward college credit.
This is only one example. Thousands of ATI students have received a broad spectrum of practical training in seminars, at Training Centers, and through travel worldwide with the ministries of IBLP. Through their vibrant witness, many ministry opportunities continue to open up around the world.
Many of these students had a choice between traditional college training and advancing the cause of Christ during the most productive years of their youth. Now, ATI students no longer have to choose between ministry and a degree. It is only a matter of what they seek first.
The time has come to experience the words of Jesus in the academic world: “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33).
